Jones vs Atl

The Jets may have gotten some devestating news Sunday, as feature running back Thomas Jones limped off the field during practice with what appeared to be either an ankle or calf injury.  Jones was not available to the media after the session, and head coach Eric Mangini had already spoken to the media and did not say what the injury was.

The somewhat good news was that Jones was walking gingerly, but was able to put weight on the leg. Jones also was clearly able to move his ankle.  He spent the rest of the practice session on the side, working on the hand bike and stretching.  The former Bears back was a force in his first start with the Jets in a win over the Falcons on Friday night, as he ran for 27 yards on 8 carries and a touchdown.
