Jets Cut Ties With Kendall in Trade with Skins

The battle between the Jets and Pete Kendall finally reached a climax Thursday, with the disgruntled offensive lineman being  traded to the Washington Redskins in exchange for a conditional mid-round draft choice.  Kendall had been in a war of words with the Jets since before the start of training camp, unhappy that the club would not re-work his contract despite an increase in the NFL salary cap.
