1-3 Jets Face Giants In Big Apple Battle

The Jets and Giants get together Sunday at the Meadowlands for the Big Apple Battle.  Gang Green is off to a 1-and-3 start following a 17-14 Week Four road loss to the Bills.  Chad Pennington was an efficient 32-of-39 for 290 yards and a touchdown, but was also picked off twice in the loss.  Thomas Jones was limited to just 12 carries for 35 yards on the ground.  The G-Men are coming off a dominating defensive performance against the division-rival Eagles.  Osi Umenyiora [[ OH-see  you-men-YORE-uh ]] notched six of the Giants’ NFL record-tying 12 sacks in a 16-3 win over Philadelphia.  Michael Strahan got in on the act with a sack to break Lawrence Taylor’s franchise record as the Giants evened their record at 2-and-2.  The G-Men outlasted the Jets 31-28 in overtime the last time these teams met in 2003.
