Sources Say Vilma May Be Done for the Season

VilmaFirst the Jets said that linebacker Jonathan Vilma was injured.  The the LB said on his radio spot that he was not.  Now, in the ever continuing saga, it looks like there is a chance that Vilma may miss the rest of the 2007 season.  The news from the New York Post today says that the Jets camp has “growing concern” that he might be lost for an extended amount of time with a knee injury.

Jets head coach Eric Mangini said on Wednesday that Vilma hurt the knee during the loss Sunday in Cincy, and that Vilma didn’t want to leave the game, but the coaches made him.  Mangini said Wednesday that Vilma was having “some more tests done.”  If Vilma is out, he’ll be replaced by rookie David Harris, who played in his spot Sunday when Vilma left the game in Cincy.
