Jets Notes: Preseason Win in Cleveland, Favre, Camp Notes

Checkin on Favre jerseys

Chemistry

Brett Favre believes that “Chemistry” is one of the biggest needs for a football team to be successful. Football is a team sport and the front office has done a great job doing there due diligence finding the right group of Football Players. Excited Jets fans should now expect a learning curve as Chemistry is being built. The off-season additions to the offensive line and now at the QB position bring an excitement that Jet fans have been craving for some time. GM Mike Tannebaum along with Head Coach Eric Mangenius knew that to be successful on offense they needed a vertical threat to keep defenses honest (not 7-8 in the box & dink and dunk). The Jets have a pretty good group of wide receivers, and four first rounders now playing on the offensive line. Let us know factor in a new QB that that isn’t familiar with the offensive scheme that the Jets currently run and a first round draft pick TE that can stretch the field. That is why my friends you need to be patient as Chemistry is being built. Time is not on there side with less than a month to go before the NFL season starts, but Jets fans know there is greater hope on the horizon.

Game Re Cap vs. Browns

Brett Ratliff not Brett Favre was the QB that played the best last night for the NY Jets. Ratliff hit David Clowney for two 70+ yard TD’s and went 14 for 20 for 252 yds and 2 TD’s. Clowney who the Jets got in October from Green Bay also returned a punt for a 64 yard TD. Clowney and Bubba Franks are two players that Brett Favre had previously played with at Green Bay. The defense allowed the Browns offensive to score a TD on there first possession of the game with a 9 play 62 yard drive. But it was the defense and special teams that helped bring the Jets back for the win 24-20.

Camp Notes

Leon Washington looks very quick and sharp. Bill Callahan the offensive line coach has had allot of praise from his players and coaches. Free agent pick up DT Kris Jenkins is a monster and creates a pile. First round pick Vernon Gohlston is swimming with information overload and will be a third down rusher until he gets a grasp of the schemes. Dustin Keller rookie TE from Purdue is raising eye brows and is being compared to Dallas Clark.

Fantasy Spin

RB Thomas Jones = looks like he will get more running lanes now that Brett Favre will keep defenses on there heels. Look for a rebound year for TJ
