The Jets have themselves a new corner, and wouldn’t you know he’s an old friend of the New England Patriots. The Jets Monday and CB Ty Law agreed to terms on a one-year deal. He comes to the co-leaders in the AFC East after sitting out the first 10 weeks of the season as a free agent. The 34-year-old comes to the team with a career 52 interceptions. He had played with the Jets in 2005, and then spent the last two years with KC.
He played the first ten years of his career with the Pats, where he was known as one of the better corners in the league. “This is going to be different playing Thursday night against the Patriots, matching up against my former team and the players I’m used to practicing against,” Law told the NFL Network. “I know they’re going to throw at me, but I welcome the challenge.”
The Jets and Pats battle in one of the better games in week 11, and it’s the Thursday night game on NFL Network. Law also told NFL Network that he’ll play both corner and safety for the Jets The Jets will have to make a corresponding roster move to make room for Law.
