The Jets have contacted former Ravens coach Brian Billick, a person with knowledge of the head-coaching search said Sunday. An interview has yet to be scheduled, the person said, but there’s a chance that may occur this week. The ever-widening search for Eric Mangini’s replacement still is in the early stages, but the two candidates generating the most buzz within the organization are Giants defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo and Brian Schottenheimer, the Jets’ current offensive coordinator. Schottenheimer has been a dark-horse candidate from the outset, as the Daily News reported last week.
