Football Outsiders has out their list of “The Top 10 unfilled roster holes,” and the Jets make the list with their unsettled WR spot. Here’s the story:

4. New York Jets: Wide Receiver

The Jets entered the offseason with the option of retaining outspoken veteran Laveranues Coles or releasing him. They chose the latter, but forgot to replace him. Not a single wideout has arrived in trade or free agency, leaving the spot across from Jerricho Cotchery wide open. Chansi Stuckey had a promising 24.1 percent DVOA in limited time last year, but he was a rookie playing in the slot; David Clowney was great in the preseason but broke his collarbone and has one NFL catch; and Brad Smith hasn’t broken through in three seasons. Acquiring at least some sort of veteran as a fallback plan seemed like a logical idea.
