Former Jet WR J.J. Jones Dead After House Fire

A former Jet player is dead after a fire reports Q13 FOX:

Q13 FOX News has just learned that a former NFL player is among the dead in a house fire in Pierce County.

Family and friends identify the man as J.J. Jones, also known as John Jones. He played for the New York Jets in the 1970’s. His best friend tells Q13 FOX that Jones was one of the first three African-American quarterbacks in the NFL. He says Jones was third string when Joe Namath was the quarterback.
