The Star Ledger reports that the Jets are not happy with some of the cheap shots they got from the Pats Sunday:
Two of the Jets’ top three cornerbacks were injured in Sunday’s 31-14 loss to New England and one accused the Patriots of a cheap shot. Starting cornerback Dwight Lowery suffered a high left-ankle sprain on a kickoff return to open the second half while nickel back Donald Strickland sustained a concussion when he was slammed by Patriots right tackle Mark LeVoir on a block on a bubble screen to slot WR Wes Welker in the second quarter and neither player returned to the game and are expected to be out against the Panthers. Monday, Strickland said LeVoir’s helmet-to-helmet hit was against the rules. ”I think it was a real cheap shot,” Strickland told The Star-Ledger. ”He really didn’t have to go at my head like that, especially with the NFL’s precaution about helmet-to-helmet contact. It happened. It was a block and he took advantage of it. But I guarantee you the next time we play them it’s going to be a different story. I’m making a point of emphasis to retaliate. That’s the way I feel.”
