The Rex Ryan we’re all used to seeing will be different next time we see him.
Ryan underwent a lap-band procedure to help him fight his obesity on Saturday.
Ryan, 47, who weighed 340 pounds at the start of last season, was released after the morning surgery and returned to his home in New Jersey, Speight said.
The surgery entails placing an adjustable gastric band around the upper part of the stomach. It makes the stomach smaller so it holds less food. Eventually, the appetite decreases, leading to weight loss.
John Daly underwent the same procedure last year and lost 115 pounds.
Here’s to hoping Rex makes a full recovery.
