Site Promoting Affairs Trying to Buy Naming Rights of the New Jets Home

The moral decline of our country never ceases to amaze me. Now it seems that a site that has gotten national attention for the fact it promotes cheating for those married and in relationships is trying to buy its way onto the new Meadowlands Stadium in New Jersey.

TMZ has the report:

Meadowlands Stadium — the brand new home of the New York Giants and the New York Jets — now has 25 million reasons to endorse homewrecking … courtesy of the dating site for adulterers, AshleyMadison.com.

AM founder Noel Biderman sent a letter to the CEO at New Meadowlands — obtained by TMZ — declaring, “At this stage, we are prepared to make a preliminary offer … of $25,000,000 for the Naming Rights for a five-year term.”

He adds, if the stadium gets better offers, “We would be pleased to match any such superior offer.”

The offer (which works out to $5M a year) is pretty big, but it’s still below the average for other stadium sponsorships — Bank of America pays $7M a year to sponsor the Carolina Panthers stadium and FedEx drops $7.6 a year on the Redskins stadium in D.C.

I’ve got to believe the NFL, despite it always being about the almighty dollar, would step in and not allow this to happen. Then again, with the way our country is going – you never know.

Oh please spare me the moralizing and just cover Jets football. “Moral decline”, “With the way our country is going…” Give me a break. Yeah, we only just invented cheating on your spouse in the last few years. If only we could go back to a more moral time. Like the ’50s. Ya know, when a woman’s place was in the kitchen, people never cheated on their spouses, gayness hadn’t been invented yet, and black people knew their place. What a perfect time it was!

Give it a rest, and don’t go crazy wringing your hands over this. I guarantee you the Jets won’t be playing their home games in Ashley Madison Stadium next year. You can’t really believe that there’s a possibility this will actually happen. And I don’t think Ashley Madison thinks it is either. But by making the offer, they get lots of nice free publicity from people covering the offer because “OMG, so wacky! The new Jets/Giants stadium might be sponsored by this crazy site!” So congratulations, you just gave free advertising to a site that promotes having affairs, which you think is highly immoral. Way to go, jackass.
