Jets Sign DE Trevor Pryce

Rex Ryan has snatched another player from his old employer, the Baltimore Ravens. This time its defensive end Trevor Pryce. Pryce joins former Ravens Bart Scott and Jim Leonhard on the team.

Price was cut by the Ravens and Wednesday and was expected to be be resigned on Monday, but chose instead to play for the Jets and his former coach, Rex Ryan.

“When this opportunity pops up, you go, ‘Ah, I don’t think I’m going back,’ ” Pryce said.

The Jets will not waste any time with Pryce as Ryan has already said that he will be active this week against the Bills.

“I was brought here as a pass rusher. I don’t think they were surprised. They took a calculated risk. I think they thought teams would call, but I don’t think they thought things would happen so fast. Looking at their playbook, it was really, really similar to our playbook.”

Bart Scott, who played with Bryce is Baltimore is excited to have Pryce aboard and doesn’t think Pryce is close to being done.

“He’s got more juice than Tropicana,” said Scott.

Pryce, third among active players in sacks, wasn’t happy with his role in Baltimore and took a shot at his former team.

“We couldn’t stop water from running,” he said. “We had some stuff to work out.”

Ouch. Pryce, will depth to a defensive line that is in dire need after losing Kris Jenkins for the season in week one.
