Jets dominate Bills 38-14 to move to 3-1

Led by the continuing rebirth of LaDainian Tomlinson and a big day of tight end Dustin Keller, the Jets made easy work of a team they split with last season in the Buffalo Bills. The end result of the afternoon in Western NY was a 38-14 win to move to 3-1 on the year.

“I see our whole football team improving and now we’re just hitting our stride,” said Jets head coach Rex Ryan.

Tomlinson had a huge day, rushing for 133 yards and a pair of scores, while Keller had our grabs for 28 yards, but two of the four catches were for scores. Shonn Greene added 117 yards for a Jets team that put up 444 yards of offense, holding the Bills to 223.

The Bills are terrible at 0-4, and even one of their better players seems to think the team is headed for a year in which it will be tough to win many games. “I’m calling out myself and I’m calling out my teammates,” safety Donte Whitner said before dropping a number of profanities. “If we continue playing the way we’ve been playing, we’re not going to get a win.”

Mark Sanchez did enough to make sure he and the team didn’t give Buffalo a chance, going 14-for-24 for 161 yards with two TD’s. Brad Smith also threw a three-yard TD and Mark Brunell saw playing time once the game was well decided.

The Jets are 3-1, and have put the opening night loss to the Ravens well behind them. Next week they have one of their most interesting games of the season, as they will be at home for former QB Brett Favre and the Vikings, who are 1-2 and were on bye this week.
