Jets Defeat Favre, Vikings 29-20

Brett Favre ended last night’s game like he has so many times in his illustrious career … with an interception.

Dwight Lowery’s pick six of Favre with 1:27 left sealed the win for the Jets, who defeated the Vikings 29-20. The win has the Jets firmly atop the AFC East totem-pole at 4-1, while the loss has the Vikings reeling at 1-3.

The game full of subplots: investigation of Fave, Moss returns to the Vikings, Revis, Pace return to the lineup, Holmes makes his debut was rather dull at first. It didn’t pick up until the late third quarter when Favre got hot and led a late, albeit unsuccessful comeback.

“Disappointing, I suppose,” Favre said. “I was expecting we were going to win this football game. It was a great football game and I wish we would have won it.”

The Jets were led by five Nick Folk field goals, including a 53 yarder. Mark Sanchez didn’t put up gaudy stats like has has recently, but managed the game and didn’t turn the ball over.

“We just hung in there to the end,” Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez said. “I don’t think we win this game last year.”

The Jets (4-1) travel to Denver to take on the 2-3 Broncos next week.
