Jets Struggle Against 3 WR Sets

One of the Jets goals this past off-season was too improve their nickel and dime defenses, that were shredded by Peyton Manning and the Colts in the AFC Championship Game last season.

If judging on regular season results, the Jets have failed.

According to ESPN Stats and Information the Jets pass defense has been worse in all the major categories against 3 WR sets this year. Here are the numbers:

Category — 2009 — 2010

Comp pct — 48.7 — 50.0

Yards/att — 5.3 — 6.7

TD-Int — 1-7 — 16-6

Passer rtg — 54.9 — 79.9

Bad news: The Colts use 3 WRs more than any other team in the league. Luckily, Blair White is no Austin Collie.
