Jets Say “No” to Radiers to Speak to Secondary Coach Thurman

Jenny Vrentas of the Newark Star Ledger reports the Raiders requested permission to interview Jets secondary coach Dennis Thurman for their defensive coordinator job, but the Jets denied permission, a person with knowledge of the discussions said. That person requested anonymity because Oakland hasn’t made public its search. The news was first reported by FOX Sports’ Jay Glazer. Thurman and new Raiders coach Hue Jackson coached together on the USC staff in the late 90s.
