Rex Ryan Ranks 7th in ESPN Power Rankings

The ESPN team of NFL bloggers cast their ballots on the top head coaches in the NFL

Despite only being a head coach for two years, Ryan was ranked the seventh best coach in the NFL.

Tim Graham, the AFC East blogger, was one of two people to rank Ryan fourth.

My reasoning is that Ryan, despite not winning the Super Bowl, has a tractor-beam pull on his players — and even other teams’ players — unlike any other coach in the league. Ryan carries serious clout with the people who matter most of all, the ones on his roster. That’s powerful, and these are Power Rankings.

Ryan has lead the Jets to back-to-back appearances in the AFC Championship Game.
