Christmas Eve Jets Giants Rivalry Game

Although this may not be the biggest rivalry in football, it is certainly the only intracity rivalry in the NFL. Intracity makes for not only an exciting game, but a stadium FILLED to the brim with fans. The Jets Giants Christmas Eve NFL game will take place at MetLife Stadium (formerly Meadowlands Stadium) in East Rutherford, New Jersey on December 24 at 1:00pm. While families get together for the holidays, it’s safe to say that this will be the game that the football fans of the family migrate to the den or TV room to watch. Better yet, what about families who plan to spend their Christmas Eve together at the game? New York Jets tickets are on the rise in terms of popularity this year, due in large part to this scheduled game.

To prepare for this Jets-Giants game, let’s look at the all-time record between the New York Jets and New York Giants. Having only played 11 games against each other in the regular season, the Giants lead 7-4 – the first game taking place November of 1970 and the last game October of 2007. This history recap shows us a few things:

(1) The Giants and Jets have not played each other very many times. 11 games in 40 years is incredibly rare. That actually equates to an average of one game every three and a half years.

(2) The Giants have a 3-game lead. This means the Jets need to step it up!!

(3) The last time these two played each other in the regular season was over three years ago (October 2007). It’s about time they meet again.

All in all, the Jets are in need of taking home the big W on Christmas Eve. There is only room for one winner in the Big Apple this year and let’s hope it’s the Jets!
