NT Sione Pouha Changes Agents

According to NFLPA records, Jets nose tackle Sione Pouha has recently changed representation.

Previously represented by San Francisco-based Kenneth Vierra, Pouha has hired Brian Mackler and Jim Ivler of SPORTSTARS, Inc., who are based in New York City.

A third-round pick (88th overall) out of Utah by the Jets in 2005, the 6-foot-3, 325-pound Pouha appeared in 14 games as a rookie before missing the 2006 season with a knee injury. A full-time starter the last three seasons, Pouha has 159 tackles, three quarterback sacks and tackled Kansas City Chiefs running back Jackie Battle for a safety in a Week 14 win over his last 47 games.

Signed to a three-year, $6.8 million extension in 2008, Pouha is earning $1.28 million in base salary this season and is scheduled to be an unrestricted free agent in March, one month after his 33rd birthday.

In addition to Pouha, Mackler represents Jets linebacker Bryan Thomas and both he and Ivler represent Jets inside linebacker David Harris, who signed a four-year, $36 million contract off a franchise tender in August.
