Posted in Jets receivers coach Henry Ellard will not return to the team in 2012, Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News reports.
Jets receivers combined for 146 receptions, 1,791 yards and 18 of the team’s 26 receiving touchdowns, but the position was a source of discontent for the underachieving team. The Derrick Mason experiment was a mistake and Santonio Holmes, a high-priced team captain, proved to be a cancer in the locker room.
In addition to Ellard, defensive line coach Jeff Weeks will not return in 2012.
