Jets Gameplan for Sunday vs the Patriots

By Jack Sitt

Jets offensive tendencies

The Jets run a relatively simple offense. In the passing game, their receivers often run hooks and slant patterns, and in the running game they pound the ball inside on blast plays. You can often dictate the direction they are rushing in because they often run to the opposite side of the hash mark that they are aligned at, and to the strong side of their formations. I know the Pats defense is vulnerable but I don’t think that this Jets offense will do enough to get the job done against the Pats.

The perception around the media is that the Jets have now returned to the ground and pound offense. Last week, they were able to gain 252 yards on the ground as they attacked the Colts defense. Their running game looked unstoppable, but I think that this performance dictates more about the Colts defense then the Jets offense. The Colts defense is listed as a 3-4, but it is really a 5-2.
