Week Seven: The Season Starts Now

By John Touhey

The Jets are in first place…for now. Tom Brady and company host the Jets on Sunday and will be looking to make an example out of the Jets. Last week the Jets were able to stick to their ground and pound mentality and for the first time, it actually worked. It still scares me that Mark Sanchez only threw the ball for 82 total yards, even if he did throw two touchdowns.

From here on out, the Jets should view this game as week one. If making the playoffs is their goal then they’re going to have to start with a win in Foxboro. Tom Brady cannot stay upright we all know what happens when he has all the time in the world to throw. The Jets defense was able to get pressure on Andrew Luck last week so hopefully that momentum flows over into this week.

Wes Welker is obviously the Jets main concern at receiver. Covering him will be priority number one after Welker went off for 138 yards and a touchdown against a tough Seahawks defense. With the Jets thin at running back this week Sanchez will have to carry some of that load and throw the darn ball. In addition, we should see some more Tebow this week as running the ball is his speciality. I think Tebow will make a big impact in this game and with his impact comes a Jets victory.
