Jets Look to Take Out the Titans Monday Night

By Jordan Aaron

There is not much for me to say about the Titans. Jake Locker has been impressive this year, but there are not many assets at receiver for him to take advantage of with their number one being Nate Washington. Chris Johnson is the real problem for the Jets. Johnson, as many of you fantasy owners know, is extremely inconsistent. One week, he could have an amazing game with 150 yards and a touchdown and 45 yards the next.

The Titans are playing just to play at this point. With a 4-9 record, they are just practicing for next year. Their team is not a strong threat.

The Jets, on the other hand, are trying to get into the playoffs for the third time in three years. The resurgence of the running game has certainly been fun to watch. The running game has been the direct reason for the last few wins the Jets have gotten. Against the Rams where the running game got two touchdowns, the Cardinals when the running game set up a short touchdown pass, and the two rush touchdowns last week against the Jags. The use of running is the only thing that Tony Sparano has done right this year.

The Jets will have to play without Dustin Keller, Stephen Hill and defender Bryan Thomas. The Jets have gotten by without Keller before this season and Stevie Drop-a-lot won’t be a huge loss. I am scared about Bryan Thomas being out this week, though. We could really use our defense against a guy like Chris Johnson this week.

My player to watch: Braylon Edwards.

I absolutely loved Braylon Edwards in 2009-10 and was very disappointed when I saw Santonio Holmes putting down Schnapps after signing a 50 million dollar deal, denying any job on the Jets for Braylon Edwards. With one of Sanchez’s go to guys, Dustin Keller, out, it will be nice for him to see a reliable and familiar face to pass to. I expect a spectacular homecoming for Edwards this week.

My Score and Pick:

The December to remember has gone on for two weeks – some even say two weeks too many. But I say nay! The December of a lifetime will not bring the world to an end but will continue the Jets winning streak to three games. The Jets will win their clash with the Titans with a 24-10 victory.
