After losing LaRon Landry to free agency, the Jets may be looking for the next best thing at safety — his older brother, Dawan, Conor Orr of the Newark Star-Ledger reports.
Dawan is in Florham park visiting with the Jets today, a person with knowledge of the situation confirmed. The person requested anonymity because the team does not make visits official.
The news was reported first by the NFL Network.
Rex Ryan and Dennis Thurman coached Dawan in Baltimore and were never short of positive things to say about the 30-year-old safety who spent the past two seasons in Jacksonville.
Last year, he played in all 16 games, registering 100 tackles and an interception.
