Jets Release Davis And Harris After Both Being Arrested For Possession Of Marijuana

Jets defensive end Claude Davis and defensive back Cliff Harris were arrested at 9:21 p.m. on the night of April 29 and charged with possession of marijuana, Conor Orr of the Newark Star-Ledger reports.

The two players, both on futures deals, were released from custody after being served with a summons complaint.

A day later, the Jets released the players from their contracts.

The two players were traveling with Daniel Godfrey, 21, who was also in possession of a loaded handgun that was sitting in the seat pocket directly in front of him. Drug paraphernalia was discovered in the back seat of the car, which led officers to believe there was intent to distribute the drugs.
