Multiple teams are currently feeling the pain of losing a player to a season ending injury. The Jets suffered their own loss on Friday, when cornerback Aaron Berry tore his ACL — ending his season.
Berry, who has now been placed on injured reserve, suffered the injury when he collided with receiver Joseph Collins during Friday’s practice. Although not expected to be a major contributor in 2013, Berry, was in competition for the team’s No. 4 cornerback spot, and would have seen plenty of action in defensive sub-packages.
The injury puts more pressure on the Jets front office to finalize a deal with unsigned rookie cornerback, Dee Millner. Millner is expected to slot into the starting line-up alongside Antonio Cromartie when the season opens in September.
