Ryan Punishes Everyone During Practice

jets-v-bills

The Jets committed 20 penalties against the Buffalo Bills in week-three. To prevent further lapses in discipline, Rex Ryan has implemented a common high school punishment, push-ups. For every penalty the Jets commit in practice, the whole team has to complete a series of push-ups, including General Manager, John Idzik; Team President, Neil Glat; and Owner, Woody Johnson.

According to Rex Ryan, the team had to do 30-push-ups during Wednesday’s practice, which likely means they committed three penalties.

“It is crazy, when you look at the total pushups,” Rex Ryan said, “Obviously we’re 32nd in the league, probably closer to 33rd [in penalties] if that was possible, and it’s just not us. That is not who we are, so we’re trying to fix it and we will fix it. I think we were fourth in the league last year in that and it’s something that’s been addressed, as you guys know.
