The New York Jets will sign WR David Nelson today, according to various sources.
The Jets worked out Nelson last week, but passed on the former Buffalo Bills receiver. However, due to injuries last weekend to both starting wide receivers — Santonio Holmes, and Stephen Hill — the Jets needed to make a move in order to provide the offense with some depth. Nelson will join Jeremy Kerley, Clyde Gates, Ben Obomanu, and Ryan Spadola as the only healthy receivers on the roster.
Nelson spent all of his 3-year career with the Buffalo Bills amassing a total of 94 receptions for 1042 yards and 8 TDs. His best year came in 2011 when he had 61 receptions for 658 yards and 5 TDs.
