Report: Ryan To Return As Jets Coach In 2014

The decision on if to bring back coach Rex Ryan or not for 2014 seems to have already been decided on, as Adam Schefter reported earlier today that Ryan will be back.

The NY Daily News says: that Sources confirmed that Ryan and GM John Idzik met at the team facility on Friday (and possibly multiple times during the week). It’s unclear whether Ryan, who still has one year remaining on his contract at $3-$4 million, will receive an extension to remove a true lame-duck status.

Ryan enters Sunday’s finale for the 2013 season with a 45-40 record, including four road playoff wins, in five seasons.

The Jets have missed the playoffs for three consecutive seasons after their magical postseason runs in Ryan’s first two years.

In the last three seasons, the Jets are 21-26, but Ryan is very popular with the players in the locker room, and did enough it appears to come back for at least another season.
