Right guard Willie Colon will undergo knee surgery, according to Jets head coach Rex Ryan.
Colon, who signed a one-year $2 million deal in the off-season, spent the off-season rehabbing torn biceps, which prematurely ended his 2013 season.
“A knee needs to be scoped so he’s going to have that,” Ryan said. “He was really doing well on his rehab and things but that’s going to hold him back. We’ll see how it goes, but we’re not going to throw him out there. We’re not playing the Patriots anytime soon, so we got to do what’s best for him.”
Second year offensive tackle Oday Aboushi took Colon’s place at right guard during practice on Wednesday.
