Before he was his Jets teammate, before they formed arguably the best 1-2 receiving tandem in the NFL, Brandon Marshall doubted Eric Decker, Dom Cosentino of the Newark Star-Ledger reports.
“[He] told me, ‘I honestly thought you were a product of Peyton” Manning,” Decker recently told Newsday. “Like, ‘I didn’t believe you were good.'”
And Marshall owned up to it.
“I did,” he told Newsday. “[I used to think] ‘Man, it’s not fair, they have Peyton.”
Marshall appreciates what Decker can do now.
“He’s probably one of the better route runners in our league,” Marshall said, per Newsday. “And I don’t think people really understand it—I didn’t even really … And then, probably during the Indy game [in Week 2], I was like, ‘Wow, this dude is pretty good.'”
