In a conference call with San Francisco Bay Area reporters ahead of Sunday’s Jets game against the 49ers, New York Jets wide out Brandon Marshall made a rather bizarre admission, talking about barely remembering his three-touchdown performance against the Niners in 2014 when he was with the Bears.
The wide out said he can’t recall much about that game due to a ‘painkiller fog,’ according to Ryan Lazo of the New York Post.
“I don’t really remember much about that game, because I worked really hard to get back from a high ankle [sprain],” Marshall said. “I’ll say it: I took a couple of pain pills that masked the pain.”
Marshall was injured just 10 days before that game, suffering a high ankle sprain, but in the game for Chicago he had 48 yards and three touchdowns on five catches.
“I was supposed to be out four to six weeks,” Marshall said. “I don’t remember much from that game. I just remember catching those balls and that was pretty much it.”
