Jets Ink DB Kacy Rodgers II, Son of Teams Defensive Coordinator Kacy Rodgers

The Jets have signed defensive back Kacy Rodgers II, the son of their defensive coordinator, Kacy Rodgers, Darryl Slater of the Newark Star-Ledger reports.

The elder Rodgers is entering his fourth year as Todd Bowles’ defensive coordinator.

Rodgers II had been playing in the CFL before being released last week by Saskatchewan, so he could pursue NFL opportunities. He was going to become a CFL free agent on Feb. 13.

Rodgers II, who is 25, spent two seasons with Saskatchewan. He had one sack and one forced fumble in 2016. He had an interception (which he returned for a touchdown) and two forced fumbles in 2017.
