Teams Calling About Sam Darnold, What Can the Jets Get For the 3rd Pick in the 2018 Draft?

It has been a tough couple of seasons for Jets QB Sam Darnold since arriving as the third overall pick back in 2018.

He’s 13-25 for the Jets as a starter in 38 games, and many think it’s simply time to move on from him and go out and try and get superstar QB Deshaun Watson from the Texans.

Whatever the Jets wind up doing, it sounds like they do have a solid asset in Darnold, as reports say that “multiple teams” are calling the Jets about what it would take to get Darnold in a trade.

The Jets are likely storing away these trade ‘offers’ if that’s in fact what they are, as they may need chips if they are going to try and put a package together for the likes of a Watson before the start of the 2021 season.

Reports say that the Jets had interest in former Detroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford, who was moved over the weekend to the Rams for former first-round pick Jared Goff and draft picks.

It wouldn’t be a surprise to see a team that needs a quarterback finally give in and make a call to the Jets to see what they truly want for Darnold.

If the Jets were wise they would have a deal for Darnold in place before they go out and acquire a big name QB like Watson.
