Jets 2011 NFL Mock Draft Compliation

With the 2011 NFL Draft the only thing certain with the CBA talks going nowhere as of now, it’s time to focus our attention toward the draft. With that said, I scoured the internet and found 12 NFL Mock Drafts as I get up to speed on whose available this year.

I listed who each draft foresees the Jets selecting with the 30th pick as of now.

Mel Kiper Jr. (ESPN): Rahim Moore, S, UCLA

Todd McShay (ESPN): Phil Taylor, NT, Baylor

Pete Prisco (CBS): Justin Houston, OLB, Georgia

Chad Reuter (CBS): Ryan Kerrigan, OLB, Purdue

Rob Rang (CBS): Phil Taylor, NT, Baylor

Wes Bunting (NFP): Danny Watkins, OG, Baylor

Pete Schrager (FOX Sports): Phil Taylor, NT, Baylor

Nolan Nawrocki (PFW): Akeem Ayers, OLB, UCLA

Don Banks (SI): Corey Liuget, DL, Illinois

Scott Wright (NFLDC): Justin Houston, OLB, Georgia

SB Nation: Kyle Rudolph, TE, Notre Dame

Walter Football: Muhammad Wilkerson, DL, Temple

As of now, the favorite appears to be Phil Taylor, nose tackle from Baylor. With Kris Jenkins return up in the air and Sione Pouha on the wrong side of 30, nose tackle is definitely a position of need for the Jets.

A few surprises include Wes Bunting having the Jets take a guard and SB Nation giving a tight end to the Jets.

What do you guys think of these selections? Like any of the selections? Hate any?

Response to jetsgab’s list of 1st round predictions for the Jets in 2011: SB Nation – TE? Why? Dustin Keller is a top TE in the league. He’s young and will only improve with age. He didn’t get to many looks in the 2nd half of the season but that’s not to say he wasn’t open. They might want to consider picking up a back up TE but it would be a huge waste to grab one in the 1st round. OLB is a good position to have some depth at, although they just franchised Harris. Is it wise to spend so much on two guys at the same position? Maybe. I do support the Nose Tackle pick, that sounds promising. Nose tackle is the backbone of the 3-4. Even if Jenkins returns, the rookie NT would provide good relief time during games.
