How Badly Do You Want Nnamdi Asomugha?

The New York Jets are said to be in hot pursuit of Nnamdi Asomugha.

Thanks to some creative cap maneuvering from GM Mike Tannenbaum the Jets have created some wiggle room under the cap.

Thought to be a pipe dream before free agency, the Jets have emerged as a favorite, if not the front runner, for Asomugha’s services.

It seems like it could cost anywhere from $12-$15 million per year to sign Asomugha and pair him with Darrelle Revis (Rex Ryan is currently drooling over this possibility). That’s a lot a money to spend on one player, even one as great as Asomugha.

If the Jets find a way to land Asomugha, it all but ends the tenures of Antonio Cromartie and Braylon Edwards.

So my question to you is this: Would you rather have the Jets sign Asomugha and a veteran stop gap WR or have them sign both Cromartie and Edwards?

(Note: This doesn’t mean if they don’t sign Asomugha they will resign Cromartie/Edwards. It’s just a hypothetical.)

Personally, this is a tough call. As much as I like the combo of Cromartie and Edwards, players like Asomugha are rare and are even harder to find in free agency so I’ll take my chances with Aso.
