Rich Cimini of ESPN reports that the Jets will have one of their big men in camp, that being defensive end Muhammad Wilkerson, who has been having major issues with his contract.

Wilkerson participated in the team’s mandatory minicamp last month, but he skipped the entire voluntary portion of the offseason program — fueling speculation of a training camp holdout.

But he never gave it serious consideration, and he will report under his existing contract. Wilkerson, 25, is scheduled to make a guaranteed $6.97 million in the fifth and final year of his rookie contract.

Coach Todd Bowles said Monday he wasn’t concerned about a potential holdout, but he also indicated he wouldn’t be surprised one way or the other.

In mid-June, Wilkerson said he was “frustrated” but “very confident” a long-term deal could be reached. The Jets have said they’d like to re-up Wilkerson, one of their top players, but the two sides aren’t close.
